Learn From Mistakes

July 31, 2008

Thomas Edison tried two thousand different materials in search of a filament for the light bulb. When none worked satisfactorily, his assistant complained, “All our work is in vain. We have learned nothing.”

Edison replied very confidently, “Oh, we have come a long way and we have learned a lot. We now that there are two thousand elements which we cannot use to make a good light bulb.”

Believe it or not, in our DMI training, one simple mistake made by one participant can constitute a very crucial lesson the rest of the class can learn from. Make sure you register in our upcoming training to experience life lessons passed down by our experts.

Rich people are willing to promote themselves and their value.

Poor people think negatively about selling and promotion.

Robert Kiyosaki, bestselling author of Rich Dad, Poor Dad (a book I highly recommend), points out that every business, including the business of writing books, depends on selling. He notes that he is recognized as a bestselling author, not a bestwriting author. One pays a lot more than the other!

Rich people are usually leaders, and all great leaders are great promoters. To be a leader, you must inherently have followers and supporters, which means that you have to be adept at selling, inspiring, and motivating people to buy into your vision. A skill otherwise known as selling.

Generally speaking, it is the leaders–those who can promote themselves and their products or services–who are able to amass great wealth.

Learn to sell and watch what happens to your net worth.

The Chess Game

July 25, 2008

A young man said to the abbot from the monastery:

“I’d actually like to be a monk, but I haven’t learned anything in life. All that my father taught me was to play chess, which does not lead to enlightenment. Apart from that, I learned that all games are a sin.”

“They may be a sin but they can also be a diversion, and who knows, this monastery needs a little of both,” was the reply.

The abbot asked for a chess board, sent for a monk and told him to play the young man. But before the game began, he added:

“Although we need diversion, we cannot allow everyone to play chess the whole time. So, we only have the best players here; if our monk loses, he will leave the monastery and his place will be yours.”

The abbot was serious. The young man knew he was playing for his life, and broke into a cold sweat; the chess board became the center of the world.

The monk began badly. The young man attacked, but then saw the saintly look on the monk’s face; at that moment, he began playing badly on purpose. After all, he would rather lose; a monk is far more useful to the world.

Suddenly, the abbot threw the chess board to the floor.

“You have learned far more than was taught you,” he said. “You concentrated yourself enough to win, were capable of fighting for that which you desire. Then, you had compassion, and were willing to make a sacrifice in the name of a noble cause.

Welcome to the monastery, because you know how to balance discipline with compassion.”

by Paulo Coelho

Likewise, at DMI, one of the most intriguing questions we ask our participant is: “What do you really want?” By this question, we meant, is there something you want so badly that you’d sacrifice anything to achieve it? Our upcoming training will help you discover that “something” and, once found, it will make overcome any challenge in life.

Here comes another great training opportunity from DMI:

Rich people associate with positive, successful people.

Poor people associate with negative, unsuccessful people.

Successful people look at other successful people as a means to motivate themselves. They see other successful people as models to learn from. They say to themselves, “if they can do it, I can do it.”

Rich people are grateful that others have succeeded before them; drawing up a blueprint to follow that will make it easier to attain their own success. Why reinvent the wheel? There are proven methods for success that work for virtually everyone who applies them!

by T. Harv Eker

Yes, there truly are proven methods of success. At DMI, we blaze the ways walked by our great mentor and other successful people for YOU. Of course, our next training will equip you with those positive and successful attributes.

Rich people admire other rich and successful people.
Poor people resent rich and successful people.

Poor people often look at other people’s success with resentment and envy. They snipe, “They’re just lucky,” or whisper under their breath, “Those rich jerks.”

You have to realize that if you view rich people as bad in any way and you want to be a good person, then you can never be rich. It’s impossible. How can you be something you despise?

The Huna people of Hawaii have a philosophy that says, “Bless that which you want.”

If you resent what people have, you can never have it.

by T. Harv Eker

The words you use and the feelings you have are all important to determine the life you want. At DMI, we train you to use the right affirmations and control your feelings. Come and join us now in our upcoming event. It’s more than a training!

Go For Your Big Dreams

July 12, 2008

Remember when you were a kid and felt you could set the world on fire? Millionaire? Sure. Movie star? Of course! Doctor? Easy. Best-selling author? No problem. World traveler? Start packing.

So what happened? Where are you now? Are you living the life you thought you’d lead? Unfortunately, life has a way of knocking the stuffing out of our highest hopes and biggest dreams…if we let it! Most people have lost the sparkle in their eye and the fire in their heart. They’ve lost their passion and allowed their lives to become a faint glimmer of the vibrant vision they once had for themselves. They’ve committed the great sin of the spirit and settled for a life of mediocrity.

The main reason most of us lose our dreams is not because our desire has waned, but because of fear. “I don’t have the money, I don’t have the time, it’s too late, I don’t know for sure if I can do it.” All of these reasons are nothing but the excuses of a fear and lack based protective mind. There is a saying in life, that we either have “reasons or results.”

It’s time to take back your power; time to think big once again; time to rekindle your greatest dreams. Dreams that excite you, dreams that impassion you, dreams that force you to break the bonds of “mediocrity”; reach your fullest potential and become the “ultimate you.”

by T. Harv Eker

At DMI, we will give you back the power to get back to your dreams and tips on how to achieve it. It’s never too late to change your life. Now is the best time to do it. Come and join us in our upcoming event.
